Booklist Bookmarks: After Wonder

Have you ever had a student fall so in love with a book that they are completely stuck on what to read next? Maybe the same thing has even happened to you! I know it's definitely happened to me. (Sarah's Key, The Language of Flowers, Echo, Petey, you know I could go on and on and on...)

This new series of bookmarks, that will be published the first Friday of each month, are ones that I have created for my students so they can have an easy reference for "what to read next."

You can simply print these bookmarks off on cardstock, cut them apart, and make available for your students. (Click the picture below to get your set of After Wonder bookmarks.)

This first bookmark for R.J. Palacio's bestseller, Wonder, was inspired by one of my own students. After reading Wonder, she came up to me almost in tears and asking, "What could I read that will ever live up to this?!" Luckily for her, we had just added Auggie and Me to my collection. Then at the end of the year, she asked me for a summer reading list. (I mean, is that not a librarian's dream come true?!) So I made her this bookmark. I guess it was such a hit that she shared with friends because the public librarian told me a group of them came in with copies of the bookmark I gave her! I had a good laugh, but thought there might be other kids (or adults) having the same problem so I wanted to share these bookmarks with all of you as well.

I can't wait to add more to this collection and would love to hear what you and your students would like to see next!

Back to the books,
